Top is glued!

Made a bit of progress today!  The top is finally glued to the sides and as you can tell from the photos; clamps seem to be somewhat important.

The top is glued but I still need to finish replacing/sizing the kerfing that was chiseled out yesterday.  I need to add "patches" to the sides to prevent cracking at the major stress points.  These will be about the thickness of a popsicle stick and somewhere between a 1/4 and 1/2 inch.

Reinforcement strip for the back of the body...yes, more clamps...

Closer look - you can't tell from the photo but this strip is actually a thin strip cut with perpendicular grain glued to the back.

Tomorrow hopefully:
  • Glue and complete the cross braces for the back
  • Attach patches to the side
  • Finish the kerfing for the top
